Introduction to DUNI

  1. 1.THE NAME:The name DUNI (or doonee) is the abbreviation of the Spanish words “Deporte UNIversal” – Universal Sport. This way, it points out the true purpose of this sport: to become universal in its entirety, application, and benefits.

  2. 2. THE GAME: DUNI consist in throwing between two teams, from 2 to 4 players each, and from one side to the other, a ball predominantly called “COR”, which is handled only with the hands.

  3. 3.THE FIELD: The field in DUNI has TWO PARALLEL NETS.Located in the middle, with 6.5 or more foots in height each, that separate the play areas, where the players are located.

4.THE BALL: This new COR, DUNI’S ball, conforms three rings which are centrically connected with plastic or rubber hoses, and are resistant and flexible. This particular design enables us to regulate the dimension and weight, allowing us to catch it and throw it back with great ease and security.

HOW IT’S PLAYED: DUNI is played throwing the COR from one side to the other. The ball, or COR, should never stop, and should always display circular movements. During the game among experts, the ball gives the impression of a flying bird, turning and evolving in the air without ever stopping or delaying, flying up and down, coming and going without touching the ground, displaying wonderful curves, and without colliding with any object, and going through obstacle in its path. At the same time, the players seem to be dancing to an unheard music and rhythm.

MEASUREMENTS AND WEIGHTS: All measurements and weights are suggested measurements, therefore, should not be taken as definitive. In the near future, this should correspond to the authorities (the INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF DUNI), to establish these measurements and weights for this sport.

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

1.It’s worthy of attention that in previous centuries of sportsmanship activity, humanity, which has had relied on so many notable investigators, has totally ignored the enormous benefits produced among players of the two teams, by the heavy COR that is played in the air.

2.DUNI is a new sport I’ve created on very solid foundations, deep and different in its fundamentals. Also, it introduces a series of new elements in the sportsmanship field, with the noble purpose of benefiting in a wide manner all the athletes in the world.

3.There are hundreds of sports played with balls. But an abundance of primitive elements is found in all of them: strikes, straight lines, detentions, sudden accelerations, etc. All of these are very negative for all of us due to its risks and violence. All negativity in DUNI remains totally absent. It corresponds to every individual, truly human, to love and live according with the highest UNIVERSAL LAWS. Regrettably, this is not respected by other sports played with a ball. DUNI respects those laws.

4.DUNI is a sport similar to all modern sports; it is attractive and healthy, and it also has a projection and a perspective that without a doubt, becomes difficult to imagine for now. However, it is a matter of time for DUNI to be allowed and occupy the place it deserves as a superior sport, scientifically created and well inspired.

5.In every sense, let’s clarify that the sport being given is the physical DUNI itself. A mental DUNI also exists that, even though it is also practiced with a similar ball (although heavier), it is no longer a sport but rather a deep and singular art, whose study, dominion, and mastery, requires years of constant practice and discipline.

6.DUNI does not assimilate any other sport you have seen or previously known. However, DUNI is more interesting and more valuable than the majority of the sports you already know, since it puts to work every muscle in the body in a very different manner, healthy and wise.

7. By using two tall and parallel nets, DUNI avoids in a 100% the physical contact among players. This way, violence, roughness, strikes, collisions, kicks, and bad intentions have been completely suppressed.

DUNI is the free contribution of its creator, Mr. Lionel Garreton-Cofre, to the sports humanity practices.
